There is not a specific "local Dallas health insurance for people with low income." However, there are a few options for low income residents in the Dallas area.
The first option is to enroll in the Texas Health and Human Services Commission's (HHSC) Medicaid program. To be eligible for Medicaid in Texas, residents must have an annual income at or below 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL). For a family of four, that would be an annual income of $33,465 or less.
Another option is to enroll in the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). To be eligible for CHIP in Texas, residents must have an annual income between 139-400% of the FPL. For a family of four, that would be an annual income of $33,466-$100,400.
Finally, Texas residents can also enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Marketplace is a health insurance exchange where residents can shop for and compare health insurance plans. To be eligible for the Marketplace, residents must have an annual income between 100-400% of the FPL. For a family of four, that would be an annual income of $24,280-$100,400.
